The Firth of Clyde, is the estuary of the River Clyde, on the west coast of Scotland Location: River Clyde, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom (55.40684 -4.46261 55.92070 -3.55833) Average elevation: 245 m A river opening out into a wide firth in west central Scotland, the Clyde rises at an altitude of 472m (1550 feet) in the Lowther Hills in South Lanarkshire.It flows north through South Lanarkshire then turns west near Carstairs Junction, passing through the former industrial village New Lanark where the Falls of Clyde form a spectacular view much painted by artists.
